requirements for “lead free” plumbing as defined by California, Vermont, Maryland, and
Louisiana state laws and the U.S. Safe Drinking Water Act due to take effect January
2014.

(1) The compliance of this product with the health effect requirements of NSF/ANSI Standard
61 was determined based on the testing of pipe and fittings assembled using the solvent
cement and Spears Primer-70 Low VOC Industrial Grade Purple Primer.
(2) Spears Primer-70 Low VOC Industrial Grade Purple Primer, Spears Primer-70 Low VOC
Industrial Grade Clear Primer, Spears Primer-68 Low VOC Purple Primer, and Spears
Primer-68 Low VOC Clear Primer can be used with any Certified Spears PVC or CPVC solvent
cement.
(3) This product is acceptable for use with pipe and fittings sized 1/2" and greater
diameter.
(4) Spears LW-5 One Step Low VOC Mustard CPVC Cement for Lab WasteTM is Certified for
corrosive waste applications as part of the Spears LabWaste™ CPVC Corrosive Waste
Drainage System, consisting of Spears LabWaste™ CPVC Pipe, Spears LabWaste™ CPVC
Fittings, and LW-5 One Step Low VOC Mustard CPVC Cement for Lab Waste™.
(5) The compliance of this product with the health effect requirements of NSF/ANSI Standard
61 was determined based on the testing of pipe and fittings assembled using the solvent
cement and Spears Primer-68 Low VOC Purple Primer.
