Program Participation

Application to the program is open to any manufacturer or ingredient supplier company worldwide involved in the production of dietary or sports supplements. Applicants can contact NSF International and sign a contract for facility, product and process auditing, and product testing.

Those organizations excluded from participating in the program include:

  • Any company manufacturing steroids or steroid precursors or any other substance on the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) prohibited substances list.
  • Any finished product company or ingredient supplier that currently manufactures a steroid or steroid precursor or any other substance on the NSF prohibited substances list (WADA, NFL and MLB).

NSF excludes these companies to minimize the risk of cross contamination or adulteration of a product that could result in a positive test for an athlete.
