Following is a memorandum issued by NSF International to highlight recent revisions to NSF/ANSI Standard 49 Biosafety Cabinetry: Design, Construction, Performance, and Field Certification. This memo is intended to encourage dialogue among NSF-Accredited field certifiers and biosafety cabinet owners, users and safety personnel with respect to facility design and biosafety cabinet use. It also clarifies NSF's expectations for test reports generated following field certifications (discrepancies from the most recent version of the Standard must be noted).
