Leveraging Your NSF Certification: Now that you've received NSF Certification ... why not leverage the Mark to your advantage.

NSF International knows the auto industry. That’s why you can trust NSF to provide the automotive testing and registration programs you need. NSF is addressing laws affecting the entire brake pad manufacturing industry by offering separate testing and registration services.
A number of state laws now require that friction materials be tested to ensure they meet regulations regarding their use of asbestos, copper, chromium, mercury, and other materials. NSF’s years of testing experience and state-of-the-art equipment means we can give you fast and accurate test results at a cost effective price. In addition, as an official registrar, NSF will publicly list information on those tested friction materials that comply with state laws in addition to providing the required notifications to state agencies. NSF testing and registration enables manufacturers to maintain access to important US markets while meeting the required state regulations.
To begin the registration process, download and complete the NSF Friction Material Program application. Please email the completed application to frictionmaterial@nsf.org.
