Q: What approval is required to sell my product in France?

A: All products in contact with or for the treatment of drinking water are required to obtain the Attestation de Conformite Sanitaire (ACS).

Q: Is ACS approval legally required?

A: Yes

Q: What are the ACS requirements?

A: Review of the products wetted parts list and chemical composition to the French Positive list, followed by migration testing based on the review.

Q: Is there an annual audit?

A: No, once ACS approval is obtained there are no annual audits or listings.

Q: How long is the approval valid?

A: The approval is valid for five years.

Q: If there is no certification mark for ACS, how do my customers know I have obtained approval?

A: An ACS certificate is issued along with an approval number; manufacturers create their own ACS approval logo or statement and then show the certificate.

Q: How can I obtain ACS approval?

A: The ACS approval is part of the NSF Passport programs approvals; contact NSF International to begin ACS certification.
