Food Safety Leadership Awards Program

NSF International is very pleased to announce its call for nominations for the 2010 NSF Food Safety Leadership Awards Program. This awards program, now in its seventh year, is designed specifically to recognize the efforts of those extraordinary individuals and organizations in the foodservice industry that have demonstrated outstanding achievement and advancement in areas directly impacting food safety.

For more than 65 years, NSF has helped protect you by certifying products and writing standards for food, water, dietary supplements and consumer goods. Since its creation in 2004, the Food Safety Leadership Awards Program has brought together noteworthy experts from academia, industry and government to serve on a Selection Committee to recognize impressive individual achievements that have a positive, lasting impact for consumers and industry alike. In 2009, the winners included:

  • Dr. Phillip Minerich, Vice President of Research and Development for Hormel Foods
    Lifetime Achievement Award in Packaging & Distribution
  • Dr. Carl Winter
    Food Safety Leadership Award in Education and Training
  • Joseph Reardon, North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services

  • Steve Robison, Dole Fresh Vegetables

The above awards are examples of individual creativity and innovation that culminate in the development of many groundbreaking advances. I strongly encourage you to submit nominations for the 2010 NSF Food Safety Leadership Awards Program (nomination deadline is January 29, 2010) to help recognize exceptional achievements that help us all Live safer®.
