ANN ARBOR, Mich. – NSF International has certified Diamond Standard Parts, LLC’s vehicle reinforcement bars under the NSF Automotive Aftermarket Parts Certification Program, verifying the aftermarket parts meet rigid quality, safety and performance standards.

NSF International’s Automotive Aftermarket Parts Certification Program tests and certifies reinforcement bars as well as steel bumpers, step bumpers, brackets and absorbers. NSF International engineers independently evaluated and compared Diamond Standard Parts reinforcement bars to original equipment (OE) service parts to ensure the highest level of performance in terms of form, fit and function.  The NSF certification process requires an on-site inspection of the manufacturer’s quality system to verify that the company has a traceability program, complaint process and an in-plant quality assurance system in place.

In September, NSF certified Diamond Standard Parts’ vehicle energy absorbers  and two months earlier NSF certified Diamond Standard Parts’ front steel bumpers.

“The NSF International Automotive Aftermarket Parts Certification Program verifies both the quality and performance of aftermarket auto parts to ensure that high-quality parts are available for purchase,” said Bob Frayer, Director of NSF International’s Automotive Aftermarket Parts Certification Program and Engineering Laboratories. “This is important for body shops and insurance companies.”

For meeting NSF International's rigorous certification requirements, Diamond Standard Parts’ certified reinforcement bars will be authorized to display the NSF Mark. A complete list of NSF certified automotive parts can be found on NSF’s certification listings webpage.

Diamond Standard must undergo quarterly facility inspections and random in-market parts testing, which will validate the parts’ quality and integrity, to maintain NSF certification.

Automotive parts manufacturers seeking more information on NSF International's Automotive Aftermarket Parts Certification Program can visit www.nsfautomotive.com or contact Bob Frayer at 734-827-6825 or autocert@nsf.org.

NSF International also recently announced the development of an Automotive Aftermarket Collision Parts Distributor Certification Program. The new program will help close the gap in the supply chain between auto parts manufacturers and body shops by ensuring that certified distributors have the procedures in place to address traceability and quality issues.
