We Need Your Help in Identifying Gaps In Product Types
Drinking Water Additives Products

More than 780 companies with over 1280 manufacturing plants currently have products Certified in the NSF Drinking Water Additives program (see charts below).

Although there is widespread availability of Certified products in certain categories, some utilities point to a lack of Certified products in others.

We need your help in identifying those product types that lack a sufficient number of available products that are Certified to ANSI/NSF Standard 60 or 61. Please complete the enclosed reader survey on page 11 and return it by fax or mail to NSF.

NSF Listings are also updated daily on the NSF website at www.nsf.org. Click on Search for NSF Certified Products, then scroll down to Drinking Water Additives. After selecting Standard 60 or Standard 61 you can search by product type, trade name or company name.

If you are not receiving your copy of NSF Listings of Certified products (published twice a year), call us at (800) NSF MARK.

AWWA Chemical Standards Reference NSF Standard 60

Twenty-seven American Water Works Association (AWWA) drinking water treatment chemical standards now reference ANSI/NSF Standard 60: Drinking Water Treatment Chemicals-Health Effects. Previously, the forward sections of the AWWA chemical standards suggested that readers use ANSI/NSF as a reference for health effects suitability. Now the AWWA Standards explicitly reference Standard 60 for health effects criteria in the body of the standards. The AWWA Standards also contain model language for specifications used by the purchaser, as well as requirements that the Certification by performed by ANSI-accredited Certifiers.
