Leveraging Your NSF Certification: Now that you've received NSF Certification ... why not leverage the Mark to your advantage.

Now service providers have a pathway to become "more sustainable". The NSF General Sustainability Assessment Criteria for Services and Service Providers Protocol 391 includes prerequisites as well as “optional” criteria that define and evaluate sustainable practices for service providers . Certification to the protocol is based on point-based criteria focused on three key areas: Environmental procedures, labor policies and social responsibility actions. Total point levels earned allow organizations to certify at the Conformant, Silver, Gold or Platinum levels.
Benefits for service providers certified to NSF P391 include:
The ability to differentiate your services and achieve preferred vendor status with government agencies and companies seeking more sustainable operating solutionsTo learn more about the protocol, download the P391 brochure or the article "Sustainable Me", from Interior & Sources.
NSF’s National Center for Sustainability Standards is soliciting stakeholders to help take the protocol to the next step: an American National Standard. If you have questions about the Protocol, the process to become certified, or are interested in participating in the Standard development process, please contact NSF International’s Dennis Gillan at 734.476.2543 or dgillan@nsf.org.
