U. S. National Sustainability Standards

Transparent. Public. Concensus. These three words are the antidote to the proliferation of questionable sustainability or green claims in the marketplace. They also describe the process NSF's "Center for Sustainable Product Standards" uses to develop U. S. national standards.

NSF International is a not-for-profit with over 65 years of experience as a developer of U. S. national standards. Using its ANSI-accredited process, NSF has written more than 70 standards that protect public health and the environment. Some stakeholders, industry groups, or even individual companies want the credibility of a third-party process without the time it can take to develop a U. S. National standard. For these groups, NSF's services in protocol development and internal guideline development offer a rapid and cost-effective option.
