NSF's program is recognized throughout the United States and Canada as the leader in the certification of treatment technologies. The majority of regulatory offices having responsibility for approval of residential treatment systems require certification to the NSF standards. The industry, recognizing the need for demonstrated performance to ensure protection of public health safety and the environment, use the NSF Mark as a symbol of their commitment to producing quality, reliable products.
The program currently offers certification to all types of technologies, including those which treat whole house wastewater, black waste only, greywater only, and individual treatment components, such as filters, pumps, et cetera.
NSF's Certification program is accredited nationally by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
