Leveraging Your NSF Certification: Now that you've received NSF Certification ... why not leverage the Mark to your advantage.

Accreditation is achieved through successfully passing both a written and a practical examination.
Once your application is received, NSF will arrange a time and place for the written examination, which can be administered locally at various places throughout the US, such as universities, public libraries, etc. The written examination includes 100 questions focused in a number of onsite topics, such as:
After the written examination has been successfully completed, the practical examination follows. The practical examination is administered at an actual onsite installation, as arranged by a preapproved NSF proctor. The practical examination evaluates the following:
NSF will assist the candidate in identifying such a proctor, and help to arrange for the examination. Every effort will be made to conduct this examination in a location near the candidate, at a time convenient for the candidate and the proctor. All applicants are required to supply their own equipment when performing the practical examination.
Candidates who pass both the examinations will then sign an ethics statement, signifying their commitment to honesty and integrity in their inspection services. The candidate must also follow the general and specific policies of the program which can be downloaded by clicking here.
