
Green. Eco-friendly. Natural. You have probably seen these and other similar terms in ads or on the labels of many products being marketed to today's environmentally conscious consumers. Did you know, though, that many of these terms are not really defined in any official way?
To help consumers, regulators, and businesses have more confidence when purchasing "green" products, not-for-profit organizations, such as NSF International, as well as government agencies, including U. S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U. S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), have been working to develop independent programs and standards that establish requirements for many products making such claims.
