NSF Sustainability develops multi-attribute sustainability assessment standards and protocols that encompass the full cradle-to-grave product life cycle. We evaluate products and services against established prerequisite requirements, performance criteria and quantifiable metrics in key areas of environmental and societal impact. Our standards and protocols employ an easy-to-use point system to measure performance to the standard. Certification is based on point totals to achieve levels such as conformant, silver, gold or platinum.
