International News

Maximizing the NSF Certification – Obtain Access to the Australian and New Zealand Market

NSF International is an accredited certifier to provide auditing, testing, certification and issuance of the Australia/New Zealand WaterMark. The WaterMark is a certification needed for products sold in the Australian and New Zealand markets. The WaterMark certification is supported by the Australian/New Zealand standards (AS/NZS). The AS/NZS standards reference the NSF DWTU standards. This reference provides overlap of requirements in both standards.

This overlap in requirements allows products that are certified by NSF to apply their NSF test data towards the WaterMark certification. In addition to the application of existing test data, certified manufacturers can have NSF conduct both the NSF and WaterMark audit during one factory inspection. These combinations save a manufacturer significant time and cost to obtain multiple certifications through one source.

Contact your NSF Certification Project Manager or the NSF Passport program at passport@nsf.org to obtain additional information or cost estimate.

NSF Earns Accreditation to Issue Brazilian INMETRO Certification for Drinking Water Treatment

Drinking water manufacturers seeking to sell products in Brazil must have Brazil's National Institute of Metrology, Standardization and Industrial Quality (INMETRO) Seal of Conformity on residential water filtration devices. NSF is accredited to offer all facets of certification services for the INMETRO approval; as well as issuing the INMETRO Seal of Conformity.

NSF's accreditation by INMETRO allows manufacturers to obtain a complete suite of testing, auditing and certification services. Manufacturers are able to obtain the NSF Mark, the Brazilian Inmetro Seal of Conformity and the Australian WaterMark all from NSF International. These marks can be achieved simultaneously or independently of each other on any residential water filtration products.

As part of the NSF Passport Program, NSF International offers additional benefits of combining audits for multiple certifications, providing a single point of contact to manage All certifications obtained from NSF International and working in one currency; the US Dollar.

For further information or to obtain a cost estimate for the INMETRO certification, please contact your NSF Certification Project Manager or the NSF Passport Program at passport@nsf.org.
