U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Now Requires All Broadloom and Carpet Tile Purchased by the U.S. Government to Be Certified to NSF International's Sustainable Carpet Standard (NSF/ANSI 140) Gold Level
The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA), which serves as the purchasing arm of the U.S. government and oversees more than $60 billion in purchased goods and services annually, now requires Gold Level certification to NSF/ANSI 140 Sustainability Assessment for Carpet for all broadloom (wall-to-wall) carpet and carpet tile purchased through the GSA. Current GSA carpet suppliers have until January 1, 2012 to certify their products to NSF/ANSI 140 Gold Level in order for their carpets to be considered for purchase through the GSA. >Read More

NSF International Certifies Emerson / Nidec Motor Corporation ECOTECH EZ™ Automatic Pump Shut-Off Product for Pool, Spa and Water Parks
NSF International has certified its first automatic recreational water pump shut-off product (also known as a safety vacuum release system) for meeting the requirements of national pool and spa standards: ASME A112.19.17-2010 and NSF/ANSI 50-2010. The ECOTECH EZ™ variable speed pool pump motor and control, manufactured by Nidec Motor Corporation, is designed to detect potential entrapment and shut down the pump to help mitigate body parts from becoming trapped in the drain due to suction. >Read More

NSF International’s New Public Drinking Water Equipment Performance Certification Program Helps Protect the Water Supply from Contaminants such as Cryptosporidium
Products certified to this program have been tested and verified to ensure they effectively remove Cryptosporidium, bacteria and viruses in drinking water that are known to cause gastrointestinal illness.
