Making a claim on a label is not enough for you — a conscious shopper — you want proof. That’s why NSF International has established a program to verify what’s in your food, such as GMO’s or that it’s Gluten free. What we do is review the processes for how the food is made to ensure whether it is for organic, non-GMO, gluten-free, or kosher. We are your assurance team with more than 70 years of protecting and improving human health as it relates to food and water.
Over 50 percent of Americans believe products that say ”gluten-free“ on the label have been verified to be free from all gluten. In fact, the only way to be sure of verification is to look for a gluten-free certification mark. We also did a survey about gluten and found that there are some common misconceptions about what gluten is and isn’t.

The study found the number one labeling concern for U.S. consumers is genetically modified organism (GMO) verification.
