Question/Answer

What is the Dine Safer™ Food Safety Best Practices Program?

The NSF Dine Safer™ Food Safety Best Practices program provides an enhanced level of confidence in your quality assurance programs. The program, which will be administered by professionally accredited staff, brings together Rhode Island Department of Health regulations and industry best practices to ensure that restaurants and other foodservice establishments have the best food safety, workplace safety and sanitation practices in place.

Only restaurants and other foodservice establishments that meet all requirements and achieve the Dine Safer™ certification are permitted to display the Dine Safer™ Mark in their establishment. This Mark highlights your outstanding food safety commitment and demonstrates to consumers that you have met all Rhode Island Department of Health regulations as well as industry best practices.

How will NSF and the Rhode Island Department of Health work together to provide food safety solutions?

The Rhode Island Health Department of Health will recognize restaurants and other foodservice establishments that receive the Dine Safer™ certification by listing them on their website. In addition, they will be considered lower-risk establishments when determining the frequency of regulatory inspections.
