ICMAD Members Gain Benefits Partnering With NSF International’s Cosmetics and Personal Care Program
ICMAD members obtain cost savings on auditing, regulatory compliance, training, testing and certification services from the newly launched NSF Cosmetics and Personal Care Program
ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Independent Cosmetic Manufacturers and Distributors Association (ICMAD) has partnered with NSF International to provide ICMAD members with exclusive cost savings on NSF Cosmetics and Personal Care Program auditing, training, regulatory compliance, and product testing and certification services. The partnership furthers ICMAD’s continuing efforts to offer its 650 member companies value-based solutions in preparing for cosmetic regulation changes and reforms in both the U.S. and EU.
Global public health organization NSF International’s new Cosmetics and Personal Care Program provides a comprehensive and science-based approach to product quality throughout the lifecycle. In addition to offering essential Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) auditing, training and regulatory compliance services, the program helps companies to substantiate label claims and to produce safer, greener or organic cosmetics and personal care products through product testing and certification.
“As NSF International enters its 70th year of business and ICMAD celebrates its 40th anniversary, our two organizations will work together to extend NSF’s scientific and technical expertise in testing, quality management systems, regulatory compliance and training to ICMAD members,” said Pam Busiek, ICMAD President & CEO. “These services will assist our members in achieving access to new export markets in addition to keeping pace with consumer demands for safer cosmetics and personal care products.”
"Both ICMAD and NSF International strive to provide cosmetic and personal care manufacturers and ingredient suppliers the quality and safety tools they need to succeed. As consumers seek safer cosmetics and personal care products and retailers work to meet this demand, NSF’s science-based and comprehensive approach to product quality will be a great value to ICMAD members seeking to go beyond compliance,” said Casey Coy, Manager of the NSF Cosmetics and Personal Care Program.
