NSF Performance Plus, powered by PE International SoFi® software, helps organizations on the path to more sustainable operations

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — NSF Sustainability, the division of NSF International that provides sustainability standards development, testing, certification and claims validation for commercial and consumer products, is launching to the North America marketplace NSF Performance Plus, a sustainability reporting software tool. To demonstrate the power of this new reporting tool, NSF Sustainability is providing a no-charge webinar on Tuesday, September 9 at 11 a.m. EST. Register for the webinar here.

An alternative to manual spreadsheet entry, the new NSF Performance Plus sustainability reporting tool helps organizations organize and manage sustainability data to meet supplier expectations, compliance, management system or product certification requirements, and both internal or external data reporting needs. Eighty-six percent of the U.S.’s largest revenue-generating companies produced sustainability reports in 2013,1 reflecting the demand to gather and report this information. A Corporate Citizenship report also identified internal reporting as the most important audience for sustainability reporting.2

Powered by PE International’s SoFi® software platform, which was voted a Top Product of the Year 2014 by Environmental Leader, the NSF Performance Plus dashboard reporting tool offers comprehensive data management tools. NSF Performance Plus uses predefined questionnaires for fast data collection and displays results in configurable graphs, charts and reports. This helps companies speed the reporting process, enables faster audit paperwork processing and allows customizing data analysis. For those companies seeking certification to NSF/ANSI sustainability standards, specific questionnaires are available to simplify the data gathering and reporting process.

“The NSF Performance Plus sustainability reporting software tool provides an affordable, accurate and time-effective solution for organizations that are working toward more sustainable operations and products. NSF Sustainability is excited to add this offering to our sustainability services, helping companies organize and expedite the reporting process across a range of key sustainability metrics,” said Tom Bruursema, General Manager of NSF International’s Sustainability Division.

How NSF Performance Plus Sustainability Reporting Works

NSF Performance Plus improves an organization’s access to usable sustainability information via automated data input capabilities and customizable analysis tools. For example, companies can:

  • Input data through automated file uploads and predefined questionnaires formatted for general reporting or for NSF sustainability standards reporting.
  • Analyze data with unit conversion and currency exchange rate updates, calculation methodologies and baseline adjustment.
  • Visualize data using a dashboard format with a wide variety of chart types and interactive analytics and drilldowns.
  • Report data with user-defined reports, centralized dashboard management, a full audit trail and fast report creation and sharing.

NSF Sustainability product certification customers will find questionnaires in NSF Performance Plus preformatted to meet the reporting requirements for NSF certification to sustainability standards and protocols such as: NSF/ANSI 342: Sustainability Assessment for Wallcovering Products, NSC 373 Sustainability Assessment for Natural Dimension Stone, NSF 416: Sustainability Assessment of Water Treatment Chemicals, NSF 375: Sustainability Assessment for Water Treatment Products and level® certification: ANSI/BIFMA e3 Furniture Sustainability Standard.
