NSF International brings award-winning training system online, offering anytime, anywhere access to courses

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – NSF International, a global public health and safety organization with more than 70 years’ legacy in food safety, recently launched four eLearning courses to help food manufacturers, processors, retailers and the food service industry enhance food safety practices and produce safe foods for consumers.

“The easy-to-access, flexible online format is a great solution for organizations that want to provide food safety training to their employees without interrupting production,” said Kim Onett, Technical Training Manager at NSF International. “We are also capable of customizing any of our eLearning programs or building full eLearning academies for our global clients.”

The four self-paced and interactive courses have been designed and developed by NSF International’s food safety and instructional design experts, and include:

  • Online HACCP Refresher: Learners are challenged to demonstrate their knowledge of HACCP through interactive exercises, scenarios and quizzes.
  • Online GMP Refresher: This fun, interactive program provides a refreshing alternative to traditional Good Manufacturing Practices refresher courses.
  • Principles of Internal Auditing: Equivalent to a one-day course, this program provides learners with a thorough understanding of how to plan, conduct and document an internal audit of their food safety management system.
  • HealthGuardTM – Certified Food Protection Manager Preparatory Training: Based on the U.S. FDA Food Code, this course focuses on the essential information foodservice workers need to provide safe food to consumers. It prepares them to take any of the nationally-recognized and accredited Food Protection Manager certification exams, and includes an exam preparation module.

NSF International’s eLearning programs are accredited by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET), which ensures quality and consistency in the design and development of all training programs. As an IACET Accredited Provider, NSF Training and Education Services offers continuing education units (CEUs) for its programs that qualify under the ANSI/IACET Standard.

“The feedback from our clients has been tremendous,” said Erin Moore, Director, Training & Education Services of North America at NSF International. “They like the self-paced and practical approach, and find that the real-world industry examples allow them to understand how they can apply the learning to their facility.” Moore also highlights the ability to access and print certificates directly from the system. “We are seeing a huge response from clients worldwide who are signing up their entire team for annual refresher training.”
