Public Notice (view as PDF): NSF International today posted a Public Notice on PVC 1120 potable water pipe manufactured by Liberty Plastics, LLC located in Louisville, KY. The implicated product was manufactured between May 2012 and November 2012, and was marketed under the trade designation “Liberty Plastics, LLC” or “Liberty Plastics”.
NSF International cautions consumers to avoid using the pipe for potable water use. Independent testing under the requirements of NSF/ANSI Standard 61 titled "Drinking Water System Components - Health Effects" indicated that the pipe exceeds the maximum extraction levels for Residual Vinyl Chloride Monomers. The pipe is no longer Certified by NSF International.
This finding was discovered as part of NSF International’s tri-annual testing of PVC pipe for Residual Vinyl Chloride Monomers to ensure the product Certified by NSF continues to meet the requirements of the standard.

Notice (view as PDF): NSF International, today posted a Class 1 Public Notice for an Equalizer Line Outlet Cover manufactured by Aquatic Innovations, LLC located in Wilmington, NC and Certified to ASME A112.19.8. The implicated product was manufactured between July 2010 and August 2010, and was marketed under the trade designation VGBreak 1 1/2 inch and/or VGBreak Safety Vacuum Break 1 1/2 with an intended use as a wall mount unit. NSF International cautions consumers to avoid using the outlet cover for use in swimming pools or spas (Aquatic Innovations, LLC also purports to market an adapter for this 1 1/ outlet cover for use with other size lines, but such adapter is not Certified by NSF and, regardless, consumers should not use any such adapter with this implicated unit). Aquatic Innovations, LLC labeled this outlet cover for use in pools with 120 gallons per minute flow rate; however, testing of the product certified by NSF indicates the maximum flow rate as 12 gallons per minute. In addition, marketing documents of Aquatic Innovations, LLC misstate the scope of certification of this unit under ASME A112.19.8. Consumers should remove the outlet cover and replace with another cover certified to ASME A112.19.8.
