Automotive Rearview Mirrors Registration

  • Registration Process

The NSF rearview mirror registration program covers inside rearview mirrors and driver’s side and passenger’s side exterior rearview mirrors. Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) requires rearview mirrors to meet the field of view, reflectance and mounting requirements in FMVSS 111. If the mirror is convex, it must also meet radius of curvature requirements and have appropriate markings for convex mirrors.

Registration affords companies an easy, quick and cost effective means to publicly demonstrate compliance to multiple industry standards and regulations.

For questions regarding the automotive registration or the approval process to obtain registration, please email autoreg@nsf.org.

Benefits of Registration

NSF registration allows companies to publicly demonstrate compliance of products or services with standards, laws, regulations and requirements of potential customers.

Products and services that meet registration requirements will appear in the public NSF Listings and can be referenced in marketing and other promotional information.

Registration by NSF, an independent third-party registrar, helps mitigate liability for companies and adds defensibility.
