NSF/ANSI 2 – 2014 was published in May 2014, with modifications to section 5.35 for food shields. This section of the standard was updated to meet current industry needs for specific types of food shields and to clarify the intent of the requirements.

Specific requirements were added for:

  • Freestanding food shields for use with countertop equipment
  • Self-service food shields attached to countertop equipment
  • Vertical food shields attached to countertop equipment
