Using next-generation sequencing (NGS), our laboratory provides species-level identification for the organism that you need identified. Our database is filled with sequences from vouchered materials to compare your samples to, enabling us to provide the most accurate identification.

The power of NGS for use in authenticity cannot be understated.  Through the use of NGS, we are able to identify every constituent of a sample, not just the target ingredient. For collaborators with product blends or powders, we can help validate the composition of your sample.  If you have a single ingredient in your material, we can confirm the identity of that sample through targeted sequencing. When used in conjunction with other traditional identification methods such as chemical testing, DNA testing is an important tool to ensure the identity of a sample.
