Course Overview

This course is designed for directors and managers of healthcare facilities that must now develop and adhere to policies and procedures in accordance with CMS memo S&C 17-30 that inhibit microbial growth in building water systems and reduce the risk of growth and spread of Legionella and other opportunistic pathogens in water. The policy now applies to Hospitals, Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs), and Long-Term Care (LTC). Course participants will learn: • how to identify areas with potential hazards and hazardous conditions • required components of a water management program • how to implement a sampling, monitoring, and inspection strategy in order to protect public health and ensure compliance with CMS There is no registration fee, and refreshments and lunch will be provided.
