Product(s): All HydROtwist branded water filters
Issue: Unauthorized use of the NSF certification mark, unauthorized claims of NSF certification and misrepresenting NSF certification.
Description: The Tru Water website, www.truwater.com.au, is falsely claiming that its HydROtwist branded water filters are certified by NSF. Tru Water is not an NSF-certified company and is not authorized to use the NSF mark on any of its products, including the HydROtwist branded water filters. The website is also using the NSF mark and claims of NSF certification in conjunction with products manufactured by other companies, such as the Omnipure E5515 SB, which is not certified by NSF. Additionally, there are several instances throughout Tru Water’s website where Tru Water is misrepresenting NSF certification of certain products made by NSF certified manufacturers. Specifically, Tru Water’s website claims that the Omnipure models OMB934-1 Micron and the OMB934-1 MPB and the Doulton Sterasyl filters are “NSF Certified and Tested” for performance claims such as cyst, lead, turbidity and particulate reduction, when in fact, these products are only certified by NSF to NSF/ANSI Standard 42 for material requirements only. NSF has not tested these models for any performance claims.
