Pedro Sancha, President & Chief Executive Officer

Pedro Sancha, President and Chief Executive Officer

Pedro Sancha serves as President, CEO and Director of NSF since March 2022. Sancha joined NSF from Ecolab where he was senior vice president and general manager of the Industrial Digital Group and led the Global Light Industries division. Prior to joining Ecolab, Sancha spent 14 years with Shell, where he held senior leadership positions in general management, sales, marketing, supply chain, strategy, and business development. He began his career as a business consultant with Arthur Andersen. Sancha has extensive international experience, having lived, and worked in Northern Africa, Europe, Asia Pacific, and the U.S. He earned master’s degrees in Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and the Ecole des Ponts Paristech in France, and a master’s degree in business administration from Harvard University.

Jose Luis Borrero, Vice President & Chief Financial Officer

Jose Luis Borrero, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Jose Luis Borrero leads NSF’s global finance organization and financial activities, including financial planning and analysis, accounting and controllership, corporate development, tax, and risk management. Borrero joined NSF from ChemTreat, a Danaher portfolio company specialized in industrial water treatment, where he was the CFO. Prior to that, he was CFO at Deluxe Corporation and 3M. Borrero’s international financial career also spans PepsiCo, Coca-Cola and Procter & Gamble. Borrero holds a Bachelor of Science in Management with a Finance concentration from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA.

John Rowley, Senior Vice President, Food & Transportation

John Rowley, Senior Vice President, Global Food and Industrial (ISR)

John Rowley leads NSF’s global Food and Transportation divisions and is also responsible for driving operational excellence across NSF’s audit activities. Prior to NSF, Rowley was CEO of the PE-backed SAI Global Assurance, prior to which he was with the Lloyds Register Group for eight years as CEO of LRQA and the group's Asia Pacific President. He also spent fourteen years at Ecolab Inc. in various global accounts and general management roles. Rowley has a degree in Food Biotechnology from Reading University and graduated from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and the Tuck Executive Program at Dartmouth University. He has lived in London, Sydney, Singapore, Shanghai, and Hong Kong.

Dave Purkiss, Vice President, Water Systems

Dave Purkiss, Vice President, Global Water

Dave Purkiss oversees all of NSF’s water programs worldwide as the Vice President, Water Systems. Purkiss has been with NSF for over thirty-five years. He was previously the Managing Director at WRC-NSF – a joint venture providing water product approvals in the United Kingdom. Purkiss holds a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Michigan State University.

Scott Morris, Vice President, Laboratories

Scott Morris, Vice President, Global Laboratories

Scott Morris is the Vice President of NSF’s Global Laboratories, responsible for ensuring the highest level of scientific testing, quality, and assessment in lab operations. Prior to joining NSF, he served as President, Southeast, West Coast, and Drinking Water Services at Eurofins Environment Testing. He was also the Chief Operating Officer at TestAmerica Laboratories, Inc. Morris earned his bachelor’s degree in Environmental Planning and a postgraduate diploma in Town & Country Planning from the University of Birmingham in Birmingham, U.K. He also holds a postgraduate diploma in Business Administration from the University of Warwick in Coventry, U.K.

David Lonza, Vice President, Health Sciences

David Lonza, Vice President, Global Health Sciences Division and President, Amarex

Dave Lonza leads NSF’s global Health Sciences division, which includes regulatory consulting, training, clinical trials and product certification for the pharma/biotech, medical devices, nutrition and personal care industries. Lonza joined NSF from Lachman Consultant Services. His previous experience spans the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device industries in roles at Lifecycle Technologies, Integrated Controls Group, and several pharmaceutical companies. He is a U.S. Navy veteran and has lived and worked internationally in Switzerland, Germany, and Italy. Lonza earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Vanderbilt University.

Lesley Ma, Chief Technology Officer

Lesley Ma, Vice President and Chief Information and Continuous Improvement Officer

Lesley Ma is responsible for driving technology enablement across the company and digitizing our service model and client experience, as well as supporting the development of NSF’s suite of data and AI-based solutions. Prior to NSF, Ma was the Global CIO for General Motors’ (GM) Cadillac division. She also served as CIO for GM’s ASEAN region on assignment in China. Ma sits on the NAFE Top Executive Roundtable, Ascend AEN Operating Committee, and Society of Information Management. She co-founded Women-in-Technology Group NYC (WinTEG) and is an advisor to technology innovators and educators. Ma received her MBA from the University of Toronto following her Bachelor of Applied Science in Industrial Engineering, also at the University of Toronto.

Sean Etheridge, Chief Legal & Compliance Officer

Sean Etheridge, Vice President and Chief Legal Officer

Sean Etheridge is responsible for NSF’s Legal, Quality and Compliance activities, as well as ESG. In addition, he serves as NSF’s Corporate Secretary. Etheridge joined NSF in 2022 from Stryker Corporation, where he was Vice President and Corporate Secretary. Prior to Stryker Corporation, Etheridge worked in private practice, focusing on corporate law. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School, preceded by a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Michigan.
