Fernando H. Fonseca has more than 12 years of experience as a consultant focused on minimizing water safety risks to human health. Currently, he serves as NSF’s Technical Manager of Building Water Health in Latin America and also fulfills projects in EMEA, APAC and NAM.
Mr. Fonseca was part of the technical commission that developed the Brazilian ABNT standards for hot- and cold-water installations and for minimizing risks of legionellosis in water systems. His expertise is sought out to consult on the development of water safety plans for buildings and industries and for Legionella risk assessments using the HACCP method.
He was key to the Portuguese translation of technical documents including EHEDG n. 24, 27 and 28 and was the organizer and author of two books on Legionella and water safety plans. He is accredited as a risk assessor for Legionella in the UK and studied water safety plans at the University of North Carolina.
