Orsi Dézsi

Orsi Dézsi has more than 20 years of experience in the food equipment industry. As Director of Product Certification – Equipment and Chemical Evaluation, Global Food Division, she leads NSF’s nonfood certifications and evaluations teams. Her teams prevent foodborne illness by certifying and registering commercial and processing food service equipment, food contact materials, and nonfood compounds. NSF also serves as a third-party profiler (TPP) for the Environmental Protection Agency’s Safer Choice program.

Dézsi started her career in dining services at the University of Michigan, where she managed health department visits and began her work evaluating food equipment. She joined NSF in 2003, spending a decade in business development helping to expand the food equipment and chemical programs before joining the operations side of the business by leading the food contact materials and nonfood compounds team.

Dézsi holds a Bachelor of Arts in history and Russian and Eastern European studies from the University of Michigan and a master’s degree in public administration, nonprofit management, from Eastern Michigan University. She is a classically trained musician in flute and guitar and speaks four languages — English, Hungarian, German and French. Passionate about animals, especially dogs, Dézsi is an active volunteer with the Friends of Michigan Animals Rescue in Belleville, Michigan.
