Course Overview

As a manager or employee working in a food establishment, you have a responsibility to handle and manage food in a safe and sanitary manner. The HealthGuard™ training focuses on the essential information you need to provide safe food to your consumers, minimize the risks of foodborne illness and limit exposure to food unfit for human consumption. It meets the learning objectives of the nationally recognized food protection manager certification exams.

Based on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s 2017 Food Code, this self-paced online training course prepares you to write any of the nationally-recognized Food Protection Manager certification exams. Through interactive exercises, case studies, quizzes and a preparatory exam module, this course focuses on food safety, hazards and contamination, employee health and personal hygiene, safe food handling, equipment, facilities and HACCP.

This course helps you in your preparation for any of the nationally-recognized food safety certification exams (provided by an accredited certification organization in conformance with the Conference for Food Protection Standards for Accreditation of Food Protection Manager Certification Programs).

You will receive a copy of the NSF HealthGuard™ Manual, a valuable resource and study guide, within 10 days of program registration.

Upon registration, you will receive an email with instructions on how to access the training course through NSF’s eLearning portal. An email address is required for registration and to receive the login instructions. You will have three months to complete the course from the date of registration. Upon successful course completion, you will gain access to print your official NSF Certificate of Accomplishment. The NSF Certificate of Accomplishment does not provide certification as a Food Protection Manager.
