As Senior Director, Food & Sustainability Advisory Solutions, Food Retail, Matthew Allen oversees teams that offer world-class strategic and technical consulting and training customized to the specific challenges and needs of organizations. Services include support for risk management, regulatory and compliance, food fraud, food safety, crisis management and sustainability solutions.

Allen has held global executive roles in the certification, consulting, assurance, and professional services fields. He most recently served as president of SAI Global’s Assurance division for the Americas, directing the regional sales and growth strategy, P&L and overall operations. Having spent more than two decades in engineering consulting and risk management, Allen is a Professional Chemical and Materials Engineer in Canada (P.Eng) and a Certified Health & Safety Consultant (CHSC).

He holds Bachelor and Master of Engineering degrees, in Chemicals, Materials, and Environmental Engineering from the Royal Military College of Canada, where he served as a Naval Officer. He is a public speaker and published author on topics including environmental health and sciences, chemical stewardship and food safety.
