Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS)

The Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) is one of the main action measures California is taking to meet its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction goals. The LCFS was designed to decrease the carbon impacts of California’s transportation sector and to create a larger market for low-carbon and renewable fuel options.

Verification

In 2018, third-party verification requirements were added to the LCFS to ensure data completeness, accuracy, and conformance with the regulation. This is in-line with other verification programs under California’s Cap-and-Trade Program and international best practices. NSF offers verification for companies that full under the requirements of the California LCFS. We have the local and sector-specific expertise to help you navigate the California reporting landscape, as well as the experience and necessary qualifications to provide superior verification services, giving you the assurance you need to ensure your documents are both accurate and complete.
