Information Systems Security Association (ISSA) Welcomes NSF’s Brian Schultz into the 2026 Hall of Fame

Lifetime achievement recognition honors exceptional leadership and lasting contributions to the cybersecurity profession.

We are proud to announce that Brian Schultz has been inducted into the 2026 ISSA Hall of Fame, the association’s highest lifetime achievement recognition.

The ISSA Hall of Fame recognizes individuals whose exceptional leadership, professional accomplishments, and enduring commitment have made a lasting impact on the cybersecurity profession. Hall of Fame inductees have demonstrated extraordinary vision, innovation, and service while advancing information security and inspiring future generations of cybersecurity professionals.

Schultz was formally recognized during the 2026 ISSA International Awards Gala on Thursday, September 10, 2026, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, held in conjunction with the Peak Cyber Symposium.

“The ISSA Hall of Fame represents the highest level of lifetime achievement within our awards program,” said Jimmy Sanders, President, ISSA International. “These exceptional leaders have shaped our profession through decades of vision, service, innovation, and leadership. Their legacy continues to inspire future generations of cybersecurity professionals.”

Throughout a distinguished career spanning 30 years, Schultz has demonstrated exceptional leadership and an unwavering commitment to advancing cybersecurity. Through professional excellence, innovation, mentorship, volunteer service, and collaboration, Schultz has made significant contributions that have strengthened organizations, elevated the cybersecurity profession, and positively influenced countless professionals throughout the industry.

I am honored and humbled to be inducted into the ISSA Hall of Fame with such industry greats as Ron Ross of National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST); David Culinane, founder of Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) and former eBay and PayPal CISO; Howard Schmidt, first Cyber Coordinator for the US White House and former Microsoft CISO; and Sandra Lambert, founder of the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA).
