Matthew Allen leads our global Food & Sustainability Advisory Solutions team within NSF’s Food Division. This Business Unit includes our Food Consulting, Training, Sustainability and Client Resourcing expert teams. Matthew has held various global Executive roles in the Certification, Consulting, Assurance and Professional Services fields, most recently leading SAI Global’s Assurance division for the Americas as President and previously led Intertek’s global Health, Environmental and Regulatory Services consultancy.
Matthew is a Professional Chemical & Environmental Engineer in Canada (P.Eng.) and Certified Health & Safety Consultant (CHSC) with over 20 years' engineering consulting and risk management experience in the areas of environmental, health & safety, sustainability, regulatory compliance, hazardous materials, infrastructure and forensic engineering. Matthew has a Bachelors and Masters of Chemical and Materials Engineering from the Royal Military College of Canada and has served as a Naval Officer. Matthew has spoken and published internationally on EH&S, chemical stewardship and food safety topics. Matthew is an active national instructor of consulting skills and applied risk communication. Matthew was born and raised in Ottawa, Canada, is bilingual in French and currently lives and works from our Guelph, Ontario, Canada NSF office.
