Electrical Safety Testing and Certification for Commercial Refrigeration Equipment

Whether you’re launching products into the US market for the first time or already sell into it, you'll need Electrical Safety Testing Certification issued by an OSHA-approved Nationally Recognised Testing Laboratory (NRTL) and qualified certification body.

There are two specific electrical safety standards, set by the US Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), that manufacturers must ensure their commercial kitchen equipment and commercial restaurant equipment comply with:

• 29 CFR 1910 Subpart S
• 29 CFR 1926 Subpart K.

Be aware that to supply to the US, you will also need Food Equipment Sanitation Safety Certification – we can help you with that, too.

• Full electrical safety testing: Our OSHA Nationally Recognised Testing Laboratory (NRTL) is part of our global network of laboratories, supporting businesses around the world. We’re also a Standards Council of Canada (SCC) accredited certification body, supporting businesses seeking to sell commercial food equipment into Canada.

We can test and certify the following commercial refrigeration standards:

• UL 60335-2-89 / CSA C22.2 No. 60335-2-89 - Commercial refrigerating appliances and ice-makers with incorporated or remote refrigerant units.
• UL 621 / CSA C22.2 No. 120 Commercial ice cream makers.
• UL 541 – Refrigerated vending machines.
• CSA C22.2 No. 128 Vending machines.
