Fact Sheet: Standards and Regulations Related to Fluoride in Drinking Water
Treatment products used for fluoridation of drinking water are specifically addressed in NSF/ANSI 60. The standard requires that treatment products added to drinking water, as well as any impurities in the products, are supported by an evaluation of potential health effects resulting from exposure to the products or associated contaminants. This fact sheet provides an overview of the fluoridation requirements outlined in NSF/ANSI 60.
