GLOBAL Animal Wellness Standard (GAWS) for YUM
What you'll gain from this course
This two day course has been developed to help companies manage their risk through a single certification.
The standards apply to beef cattle, dairy cattle, pigs, small ruminants, meat poultry and egg-laying poultry. The standards provide a tool to determine that the key elements of an animal welfare management system are in place within an organization, and focus on animal welfare, animal health, feeding, housing and husbandry.
What this course covers:
- Module 1. Animal Wellness Awareness Identifying the “why’s” and key Animal Wellness drivers for their own company and for YUM! Brands Understand how the audits to NSF´s GAWS helps to demonstrate what is in place for AW Have a strong foundation to start the process to implement GAWS in their production process Module 2. Animal Wellness Management Identify the key management principles in AW within a supply chain Take a practical approach to organize the production steps under management system Module 3. HACCP Analysis Theory and Practical Relate HACCP principles with the AW Hazard-based system Identify the key steps for using HACCP-based principles to complete an animal wellness hazard analysis in their supply chain. Understand the generic modules to design the AW hazard analysis for their own operations and supply chain
Learning Outcomes
At the end of the program, learners will be able to:

Who Should Attend
Audience
- Operational, Quality, Technical Staff and Food Safety personnel working in manufacturing or retail with food safety plans and programs.
- Also suitable for professionals new to the industry.

Participants must join the training using their own individual computer or device to meet participation and assessment requirements. Devices cannot be shared between multiple participants. To support engagement and interactive learning, participants are encouraged to join with both video and microphone enabled throughout the session.
