Harold Chase MPH

Legislative Director

Harold Chase is an experienced government relations professional with a demonstrated history of working to protect public health. He interacts with members of the U.S. Congress, federal agencies and other entities based in Washington, DC. He also represents NSF at the Organizational Member Forum of the American National Standards Institute and serves on the Board of Directors for the Partnership for Food Safety Education.

Prior to joining NSF, Mr. Chase served for more than 17 years as a Regional Representative and then Legislative Assistant to U.S. Senator Carl Levin of Michigan. During his time in Michigan, Mr. Chase served as a member of the Michigan Lighthouse Project, as the Senator’s liaison to the North Country Trail Association, and as the liaison to the Michigan Small Harbors Coalition. His policy areas included appropriations, agriculture, housing and veterans’affairs, as well as governmental affairs issues considered by the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. Mr. Chase also supported activities of the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, and worked on the Farm Bill and the Food Safety Modernization Act.

Mr. Chase graduated with honors from the University of Detroit with a B.A. in political science and earned an MPH from the Milken Institute School of Public Health at George Washington University.
