NSF Partners With Industry Experts to Lead Automotive Collision Shop Certification

Automotive collision repair industry experts Keith Risley and German Mejia will manage and grow NSF’s automotive collision repair shop certification program

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – NSF, a global organization with more than 70 years of independent testing, auditing and certification expertise, including extensive experience in the automotive supply chain, recently partnered with industry experts Keith Risley and German Mejia to help grow NSF’s automotive shop certification program. With over 50 years of combined experience in the collision repair industry, Keith and German will play a leading role in managing this NSF certification program.

NSF’s independent, third-party collision repair shop certification program evaluates and certifies shops that consistently demonstrate the ability to execute high-quality repairs and provide excellent customer service. Key requirements include in-process inspections that look at the entire repair process and ongoing quality control checks, as well as equipment, training and facility requirements.

For the past 10 years, Keith and German have worked with industry professionals to share technical knowledge and enhance expertise in the automotive repair industry. Both have earned I-CAR Platinum™ recognition and know what it’s like to work in automotive repair shops.

“German and I chose NSF because we want to work with an organization dedicated to consumer safety on a global scale and we’d like to continue to help the industry move forward in our new roles,” said Keith Risley. “I grew up in the collision repair industry and am truly passionate about this industry that has taken care of my family and many others.”

NSF’s Senior Automotive Technical Project Manager Dave Parzen said, “Having Keith and German join our team will bring NSF’s collision repair shop certification to new levels. Their extensive experience in the collision repair industry will be invaluable to NSF’s automotive certification program.”

NSF is the only American National Standards Institute (ANSI) accredited certification body that provides independent repair shop certification.
