Raised Without Antibiotics Certified by NSF

The NSF Raised Without Antibiotics certification provides consumers with assurance that the animal products they buy have been produced without exposure to antibiotics. This certification brings credibility and consistency to the on-package claim and covers all animal products such as meat, poultry, seafood, fish, dairy and eggs.

Studies suggest over half of the antibiotics in the U.S. are used in animal food production. According to the World Health organization (WHO), the overuse of antibiotics in both human and veterinary medicine has led to the development of superbugs — bacteria that are resistant to antibiotics. The rise of antibiotic-resistant bacteria has been identified as a high-priority public health concern by the WHO, UN and CDC.

Benefits of Certification

The NSF Raised Without Antibiotics certification mark helps consumers quickly identify that your product has been independently certified and assures them that your animal products have been produced without exposure to antibiotics.

According to Nielsen Solutions, consumers are demanding more transparency and want foods that have a reduced negative footprint on health. In addition, over 60 percent of consumers are concerned about antibiotic use and its risks in meat and dairy products. This increased awareness and demand for transparency has resulted in a 14.6 percent market growth in antibiotic-free labeled products. Your Raised Without Antibiotics certified products can help the market meet consumer demand and show your commitment to this pressing public health concern.
