Carey Allen is an experienced leader with over 16 years of experience in the food industry in quality assurance, food safety and product development with major CPG brands. She joined NSF in 2013 and provides technical and business leadership in the food safety and product certification programs in NSF’s Global Food Division. In her current role she heads NSF’s global product certification business unit certifying products to NSF/ANSI standards for food equipment, nonfood compounds, regulatory standards, organic certification and other value-added product claim certifications.
Earlier at NSF, Ms. Allen led Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) certification programs and helped the organization launch the FDA Third-Party Accredited Certification program for approval of foreign suppliers to the FDA FSMA import requirements.
Prior to joining NSF, Ms. Allen worked with major CPG brands to innovate and commercialize new products and packaging lines, increase productivity of food manufacturing operations, manage supplier quality and implement quality control systems in food manufacturing facilities.
