Cambium Analytica, an NSF Company, Opens New Lab in Traverse City, Mich

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich — Cambium Analytica, an NSF company, an innovative analytical testing, contract research and product development company serving the natural food, beverage and dietary supplement industries, today held a ribbon-cutting and tour of its new state-of-the-art lab facility in Traverse City, Mich. The event was attended by local, state and federal elected officials, state and regional economic development organizations and team members from NSF.

The 15,000-square-foot lab facility’s opening serves as a key milestone that advances NSF growth and demonstrates disciplined investment behind NSF’s strategy. Backed by $5 million in investment that enabled facility improvements, new equipment and redeployment of instrumentation from a former Massachusetts laboratory, the lab will be able to more than double its scientific staff with highly-skilled, technical positions.

A year after its acquisition by NSF, a global public health organization, the company’s facility provides the space, instrumentation and scientific resources needed to increase testing capacity, accelerate method development and bring new capabilities to market faster. Closer collaboration between research and development scientists and lab leadership will also improve method optimization, scalability and alignment with customer needs.

The facility’s equipment includes chromatography and mass spectrometry systems, spectroscopy instruments, microbiological testing platforms, sample preparation equipment, innovative automation and robotics and general laboratory instrumentation used to identify and quantity chemical compounds, contaminants, microorganisms and other quality attributes.

As an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited testing laboratory, Cambium Analytica provides a complete offering for the routine testing services the food & supplement markets depend on, but additionally having streamlined front-end alignment with various NSF certifications, including NSF/ANSI 455-2 for dietary supplements Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), NSF/ANSI 173 for product contents, Certified for Sport® and NSF/ANSI 527 standard for cosmetics and personal care.
