Treatment Chemical Certification and Registration
NSF International is the only independent, third-party organization that offers product registration for nonfood compounds such as lubricants, cleaners and water treatment chemicals used in food and beverage processing. Products that pass our thorough toxicology assessment are registered in the NSF White Book™.
We also certify food-grade lubricants to ISO 21469 and work with processors to specify registered products.
Cleaner, Lubricant and Chemical Registrations
Founded in 1999 to continue the work of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s authorization program, NSF’s nonfood compounds program was established to evaluate the risk of contamination of chemical compounds used in and around food processing facilities.
ISO 21469 Certification
NSF International offers ISO 21469 certification for lubricants used in specialized industries such as food, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and animal feed manufacturing. Lubricants certified by NSF bear the official NSF ISO 21469 certification mark on their packaging and labels.
