Germany Focuses on Digital Health Applications (DiGAs)

Read our article in the Journal of Medical Device Regulation on data protection and security and the positive care effects of digital health applications.

This allowed patients in the statutory health insurance system to be reimbursed for digital health applications (digitale Gesundheitsanwendungen, or DiGAs) prescribed by doctors or psychotherapists.

This article by Alexander Reck, Senior Medical Devices Consultant, discusses the fast-track evaluation procedure for inclusion of a DiGA in the DiGA register, as well as requirements for data protection and security and positive care effects in Germany.
