NSF Launches China Morning Nutrition Product Certification, Naming Amway the First Certified Company
Through professional third-party evaluation, the China Morning Nutrition Product Certification provides consumers with more reliable supplement products.

NSF, a leading global public health and safety organization, has launched the China Morning Nutrition Product Certification, establishing a scientifically standardized system for breakfast nutritional supplements in the country. Through professional third-party evaluation, it provides consumers with more reliable supplement products. Amway became the first company to earn this verification, with 16 of its products receiving the certification.
According to the recommendations issued by the Chinese Nutrition Society, a high-quality breakfast should include at least four food categories. Breakfast meals should include high-quality foods rich in protein and unsaturated fatty acids, as well as nutrients such as vitamins and minerals. In recent years, Chinese consumers have increasingly prioritized personal health and nutrition, driving growing demand for convenient, effective nutritional supplements. Leveraging its global leadership in dietary supplement standards, NSF integrated its international expertise with local needs to develop a certification system covering seven major categories:
- Protein supplements
- Lecithin supplements
- Dietary fiber supplements
- Probiotic supplements
- Vitamin and mineral supplements
- Omega-3, 6 and 9 supplements
- Phytochemical supplements
Certified products must meet five core requirements:
- Standardized Production: Obtain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), which includes reviewing documentation and inspecting production facilities.
- Ingredient Safety Testing: All supplement ingredients must comply with international food safety standards, ensuring that levels of heavy metals, microorganisms, pesticide residues and other harmful substances do not exceed acceptable limits.
- Nutritional Content Testing:Confirm that key components, such as protein, vitamins and minerals meet the amounts stated on the label and align with recommended intake values.
- Label Accuracy: Ensure that the actual ingredients in the supplement precisely match label claims.
- Functional Validation (where applicable): For supplements containing energy-boosting ingredients, validate that functionality aligns with claims.
"We are deeply honored to provide the first China Morning Nutrition Product Certification to Amway and extend our warmest congratulations on becoming the first company to achieve this certification,” said Zhao Wei, Senior Director of Food, Life Sciences & Audit Delivery, NSF Greater China. “The launch of NSF's Morning Nutrition Product Certification marks another milestone in our two-decade commitment to the Chinese market. It not only provides Chinese consumers with transparent and reliable purchasing guidance, but also elevates industry standards. We look forward to more companies joining this certification program to collectively build a new ecosystem for the nutrition and health industry in China."
Obtaining the NSF China Morning Nutrition Product certification helps companies to strengthen brand protection and reduce product risks; foster a culture of product safety and quality within the organization; and demonstrate a commitment to product safety and quality to consumers. It also supports manufacturing facilities in establishing robust quality management and GMP systems.
