NSF/ANSI 49 Annex I-1
NSF International tests and certifies Class II (laminar flow) biosafety cabinetry, which is designed to minimize the hazards inherent in working with biosafety agents of levels 1, 2, 3 or 4.
We test to NSF/ANSI 49, which includes basic requirements for design, construction and performance to provide personnel, product and environmental protection; reliable operation; durability; cleanability; noise level and illumination control; vibration control; and electrical safety.
In addition, the standard includes detailed test procedures and informational annexes, including recommendations for installation, field certification tests and decontamination procedures.
NSF is the only third-party organization with over 40 years of commitment and service to the biosafety cabinet community. The NSF mark demonstrates that your product meets the design, construction and performance requirements of NSF/ANSI 49. In addition, we use our industry expertise to evaluate and accredit biosafety cabinet field certifiers to meet stringent requirements for experience, training and job performance.
