Leveraging Your NSF Certification: Now that you've received NSF Certification ... why not leverage the Mark to your advantage.
NSF International entered into an agreement on October 1, 2000 with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to form a Drinking Water Systems (DWS) Center dedicated to technology verifications. With assistance through an EPA grant, NSF will manage an Environmental Technology Verification (ETV) Center that provides independent performance evaluations of drinking water technologies.
Evaluations are completed using protocols developed with stakeholder involvement. ETV tests and reports are expected to accelerate a technology's entrance into the commercial marketplace by providing consumers with verified results of product evaluations.
The ETV DWS Center will also develop new protocols for other drinking water treatment system technologies, system components such as media, operation and maintenance devices, and pipe rehabilitation technologies etc. Additionally, the DWS Center will conduct some tests under controlled laboratory conditions, to supplement the Center's field testing.
