NSF Offers Free COVID-19 Online Training Series: Pandemic Response Fundamentals

NSF's online training provides pandemic response fundamentals to help organizations with COVID-19 response planning.

In almost every industry, individuals responsible for managing the response to COVID-19 have been forced to learn on the job, but now NSF is offering a free, online COVID-19 response training course for anyone who oversees an organizational response to the pandemic. The new online course includes COVID-19 fundamentals, pandemic response planning and how to drive culture change within an organization.

View the course and register at NSF’s eLearning site.

“If you’ve been asked to take on this role for your organization, you have an immense responsibility,” said James Morris, Executive Director of Health Sciences for NSF. “Whether you work in an office, a manufacturing site, a hotel or a foodservice location, training is essential for success in risk and mitigation planning. This course will prepare you with knowledge and best practices we have gathered during our COVID-19 consulting and assessment work with organizations around the world.”

The online course was developed in collaboration with NSF’s Checked by NSF™ program, an independent verification of COVID-19 risk mitigation efforts. The training, available in both English and Spanish, will help drive culture change, habit formation and good communication practices in any industry or sector.

“Even if you already have a pandemic response plan in place, this training can help you understand if any additional actions are needed,” Morris said.

The user-friendly, self-paced course has three modules: COVID-19 Basics, Response Planning and Culture Change. Learners can choose to take individual modules or the entire series. They receive a certificate of completion after passing a knowledge check for each module, or for the entire course, COVID-19 Training Series: Pandemic Response Fundamentals.

Companies that would like to customize this training or offer it in additional languages can work with NSF to evaluate customization options. As this is a foundational course, additional content may be added.
